Frank Miemiec, MBA, CFP, CLU
Vice-President, Senior Financial Planner,
Page and Associates Ltd.
Financial Planner,
Worldsource Financial Management Inc.
Frank is a seasoned financial planner and business consultant practicing in the Greater Toronto Area. His education and experience uniquely position him to address the more complex needs of owners and former owners of small-to-medium-sized family businesses, especially in preparing for sale or transfer of the business, and managing their wealth to provide a tax-efficient retirement income stream and achieve their estate goals.
Frank began his career in financial services in 1987, just after graduating from the University of Toronto as a Bachelor of Science. Frank worked with families and business owners to develop financial plans, and implement them with life and health insurance and investment funds.
In 1993, Frank completed the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation focused on financial planning and tax and estate planning. Frank was awarded the Leslie W. Dunstall medal for the highest grades in the province of Ontario. The concepts from the CLU program allowed Frank to shift the focus of his practice to the affluent and business-owner markets, primarily dealing with employee benefits plans, shareholder agreements, business continuation planning and business succession planning, as well as family retirement and estate planning.
Frank wanted to be able to help his clients with better business planning and decision-making, so he enrolled in the Schulich School of Business MBA program on a part-time basis while continuing to build his practice. In 1997 Frank graduated from this program ‘With Distinction’.
The concepts learned in the MBA program allowed Frank to add additional value in his market, and also helped him see many opportunities to improve the operational areas of his branch office. Shortly after graduation, Frank took on the role of Branch Marketing Consultant in Sun Life’s largest Canadian branch office, working with the branch’s top 40 advisors to help them learn the function and application of new insurance and investment products to better help their high-net-worth and business-owner clients achieve their financial goals. He later became a Marketing Director for Sun Life’s Canadian head office, and was an integration leader for the Sun Life-Clarica merger in 2002-2003, after which he became in independent consultant.
Frank’s consulting clients included several large financial services and software organizations including CCH Canadian Inc., the Canadian Securities Institute, Ticoon Technologies, and Sun Life. In the summer of 2004, Frank was consulting on the business plan at Page and Associates Ltd., a fee-based financial planning firm in Richmond Hill. He ended up taking on the general manager role, helping to streamline the firm’s operations and services, and supporting the firm’s advisors with more complex cases. He ultimately took over the business along with two other advisors, and eventually turned his attention back to working with clients.
In 2014, Frank completed the Certified Financial Planner program, adding the CFP credential to his list of accreditations. Frank’s practice is supported by an experienced and competent team of administrative and advisor associates, to ensure a high level of ongoing client service.
Frank lives in Ajax with his wife, and their two boys, 19 and 21 years old, who are attending university.
