Rick began his career in the financial services industry as an Associate Advisor with Page and Associates in 1997 after graduating from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. His role including working with Senior Advisors to design and implement comprehensive financial plans and intergenerational estate plans, and being a member of the firm’s Strategic Planning Committee, Risk Management Committee, and Marketing Committee.

Rick had a unique opportunity to gain practical knowledge and experience in this role, particularly since his father, and the firm’s President, John Page, was considered a pioneer in the financial planning industry for developing a holistic financial planning approach that was later adopted by Advocis (formerly the Canadian association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) as the basis for its Best Practices Manual. Over the years, advisors using this process have been awarded 5 separate ‘Advisor of the Year’ nominations from Advisors Edge magazine for financial planning excellence.

By 2000, Rick had written his examinations for mutual funds, labour sponsored funds, and life and health insurance products. Rick also completed the Federation of Canadian Independent Deposit Brokers course, and the Hedge Funds course. That same year, Rick began developing his own clientele at the Page and Associates Richmond Hill operation. Rick’s ability to develop and implement solid financial strategies that include cash and tax management, investment management, and estate planning enabled Rick to quickly build one of the firm’s largest practices.

In 2004, Rick was a contributor author of the best-selling book “The Canadian Retirement Guide” as a specialist in financial planning and analysis.

Rick’s currently focuses an increasing portion of his time preparing retirement income plans and estate plans for business owners, and for individuals in executive and professional occupations, and managing their growing investment portfolios.

Rick lives in Peterborough with his wife and 2 sons.
