Don Page began his career in July 1991 at a risk management firm in Toronto where his functions included working with CEOs and senior management to coordinate personal security services.
In 1999, Don joined Page and Associates in its Oshawa office as an Associate Advisor to Sandra Page, performing financial plan preparation, investment product research, portfolio review analysis, and construction of insurance proposals. During Don’s tenure, Sandra Page was awarded the Advisor of the Year award by Advisors Edge magazine for financial planning excellence in 2001.
Don’s role provided him with an unparalleled practical education in financial services, particularly since his father and President of the firm, John Page, was considered a pioneer in the financial services industry for developing a holistic financial planning approach that was later adopted by Advocis (formerly the Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) as the basis for its Best Practices Manual.
Later in 2001, Don completed his examinations for mutual funds and insurance, and began developing his own clientele at the Richmond Hill branch of Page and Associates. Don’s personable nature and ability to communicate and clearly explain complex strategies in easy to understand terms has endeared him to many families with whom he comes into contact. This has enabled him to build a thriving practice relatively quickly with over 200 families across York and Durham regions of the Greater Toronto Area.
Since 2005, Don has performed a number of management roles within Page and Associates, such as chairing the Insurance planning and product committee and the Investment planning and product committee. Don’s passion for product analysis contributes to the development of the firm’s model portfolios. Don works with all of the Senior and Associate advisors in the firm to customize the model portfolios to suit unique client situations.
Don’s ideal client is approaching retirement or already retired, and is looking to balance the need for retirement income with capital preservation and eventual estate transfer.
